    Hello, my name is Pierre Plamondon, my father is Jean-Pierre and my grandfather Emile Plamondon. Jean-Pierre was born in Cap-de-la-Madeleine (Qu�c, Canada) in 1932. Emile was born in Sainte-Th�e (Qu�c, Canada) around the year 1900. Emile worked as a cook on timberyards and also on boats. Jean-Pierre always worked for and/or owned steel transformation companies.   • 218. Julia Plamondon (born 23 Jun 1809, ?Massena, NY), wife of Joseph Jesmer. (I hope this won't be too confusing.) In a newspaper article (about old Princeton, MN), a GGAunt of mine (has since passed on) claims that her grandmother (my GreatGreatGrandmother), Julia Jesmer Robideau (Julia Plamondon and Joseph Jesmer's daughter) was Native American. This GGAunt of mine stated in the article "He [GGAunt's father] could talk Indian and he could talk French, [as his mother, Julia Jesmer Robideau]...was 100 percent Chippewa Indian." I can't find any Native American connections in Joseph Jesmer's family, so now I am trying Julia Plamondon's family. Anyone know anything about Julia Plamondon having any Native American blood? I know Joseph Jesmer and Julia Plamondon were members of St Regis Parish, Huntingdon Co, QC, which is on a Mohawk Indian Reservation, so this might be the point of confusion .   • 206. After looking as some old family photos, my aunt passed on some information about my grandmother. She was born Beatrice Plamondon in Haverhill (NH or MA?) in 1908 and had a sister Yvonne born in 1903. Their parents were William Plamondon and Laura Dagenais both of whom died at the age of 24, shortly after my grandmother's birth. Possibly William died as a result of a logging accident.   • 204. Hi, I can't remember if i contacted you before, old age! I work at the Northwest Carriage Museum in Raymond WA. We were given 4 merchantile record books from 1867-1889 from Lewis,Cowlitz Co, WA when the area was still Territory. Several entries are of a Mr Simon Bonaparte Plomondon (Plamondeau) who was with the Hudson's Bay Co from the age of 16, until he became a U.S. citizen. He married a Cowlitz indian woman, built the first Catholic Church in Centralia, WA and at one point was an Indian Agent for the U.S. He also started the Cowlitz Landing Farms for the HBC.   • 189. Hi my name is Paul Plamondon. I am 42 originally from Montreal, now living in Qu�c City. I will tell you a bit about my family's ancestral background or what I do know of it without, I hope, boring you to death. I know this for sure: my grandfather Edmond (or Eddie) was born in Benson County Minnesota (circa 1905). His father (who would be my great grandfather) had fallen in love with a woman from North Dakota whose family name was Dunlap. She was Protestant and he was Catholic. Unfortunately, I do not know her first name. They both eloped to Benson County Minnesota. The father whose first name was also Edmond settled with his small family in th province of Qu�c Canada. Of his marriage to the Dunlap lady (I call her lady because unfortunately I don't know her first name), they had Paul, William, Edmond and Leo (in the early 1900s) short for maybe from Lionel. Mrs. Dunlap Plamondon passed away. Paul, William and Eddie went to the States in the early twenties. Eddie returned to Qu�c a few years later. So here is my question: can anyone tell me or trace whatever happened to/or what became of Paul & William Plamondon? What's more, these questions might seem odd or strange to you but I would really like to know how to pronounce my family name in English 'cause I am not sure I have the right pronunciation.   • 182. My name is Therese Rice. I'm 15 years old. My Great Great GrandFather Joseph Plamondon grew up in Provmont which is now named Lake Leelanau, in Michigan! He migrated to Canada and HE founded the little town Plamondon. He had 15 Children with his wife Mathilda. Their first born child Isidore drowned in a well. Another child of theirs, Sylvia died of diptheria at age 5. I have several original pictures of great great GrandFather Joe and his family which I inherited from my GrandFather Robert Plamondon who died a few years ago. Joseph Plamondon was a couragous man and was greatly mourned when he died!   • 129. My name is Nick Plamondon Lee. My mother is Joan Plamondon Lee. Joan is the daughter of George Francis Plamondon, who is the Great Grandson of Simon Plamondon and Henriette Pellitier. George wrote the history of the Plamondon family�the book which is the Washington State capital library. George and his brother Louie Napoleon Plamondon owned a bank in Woodland before the great depression and bank crash in 1929. George then became the head of the Employment Security Department in Olympia.

    Joan is 75 now. Joan was raised until age 10 in Woodland Washington. She then moved to Olympia in 1936 at age 10. At age 21 Joan married Mike Lee and moved to a 500 acre estate surrounding beautiful Ken Lake. Joan had eight children who live mostly around the Olympia Washington area.

    George�s Father was named Francis Norbert Plamondon. Francis was a carpenter who designed nice wood chests. He was also a surveyor.

    Simon followed Lewis and Clark trail and worked for the Hudson Bay Company. He was then captured by the Cowlitz Tribe and Simon married the Chief�s daughter. His father was Napoleon Eugene Plamondon (married Mary Laflamme) and his father was Narcisse Plamondon (married Marguerite Bruneau). Other than the fact this branch of the Plamondon settled in the Monroe, New Hampshire, St. Johnsbury, Vermont (McIndoe Falls, Vermont) area, I don't know much about my ancestors.

    My father had a brother Eugene Plamondon who died without having children. Another brother Bernard J. Plamondon died 02/08/2000 and leaves two sons - Steven Plamondon of Tampa, Florida, and Ernest Plamondon of Holyoke, Massachusetts. Sisters included Georgiana (Plamondon) Annis, deceased, had 5 children; Daisy (Plamondon) Brunette of Holyoke, Ma had 5 children; Angie (Plamondon) Morretti of Rhode Island; Agnes (married name unknown) of Holyoke, Ma. There may have been more siblings.

    My wife (Louise Arel) and I live in Tennessee. We have two daughters who live in Manchester, NH and two daughters who live in Coral Springs, FL.

    There is also a branch of the Plamondon family who lived in Manchester, NH and owned a company called P&Q located in the mill yards. That is as much information as I can find, as my father died when I was 9 years old. I do have 2 sisters - Kathryn Plamondon Locke of McIndoe Falls, Vt. and Priscilla Plamondon Locke of Monroe, NH. Yes, my sisters married brothers.

They lived in the Massena, N.Y. area, and seem to have had ties to the Cornwall, Ontario, Canada area. A daughter, Anastasia (born 29 July, 1824 at Massena) married Peter (Pierre) Chatelain of Dundee, Quebec on 19 Feb. 1844. Their daughter Sophia married Angus Lalonde, my great grandparents. They lived in Cornwall. Angus' obit lists a couple of Plamondons at his funeral. I am interested in information on Joseph Plamondon, and how he is connected to the family line.   • 50. There was a Simon Plamondon, employee of Hudsons Bay Company, who served at Ft. Langley, Britsh Columbia, among other places. He settled in the Cowlitz area of modern day Washington State in 1837 (see A Short History of Lewis County [WA], or Historical Technical Report: Cowlitz Indian Tribe). An ancestor of mine (Xavier Vautrin) worked at Fort Langley too. I was researching a marriage between a Moise Plemondon and Ellen Vautrin (both most likely born of Native mothers) as they may have descended from the Ft. Langley guys, and so stumbled across your site. You Plamondons who live in Washington may wish to check out the Children of Fort Langley website. If Simon is one of your guys, he is mentioned often in the Journals of Fort Langley, 1827-1830.   • 40. Well guess what? Yes, another James Plamondon. My name is James Alain Plamondon and I live in Biddeford, Maine, another James of the east. This is a great site and I thank those responsible. My father was Joseph Albert Plamondon and grew up in Springvale, Maine. Some people may recall him as Albert Joseph, it seems that when he was in the service they changed it to Joseph so he could be G.I. Joe. He passed away in 1983.

    His father was Almeric Plamondon of who we know little. It was clear that he left his family when his children were young.   • 32. What a terrific web site you have on the Plamondons. I am Leslie Davis (Plamondon) and I live in Shingle Springs, CA. I was born and raised in Henderson, Nevada by my parents Francis Robert Plamondon and Jean Byers. My father came out to Nevada from Denver, Colorado as a young man to work in the mines, build dams and work in the oil refineries of CA (he later moved to CA from NV).

    My father's parents names were Harry and Angel and they had 13 children and raised them in Denver, CO. Some of the names were Leon, Lorraine, Jack, Louis, Phyllis, Eulalia, Frank (my dad) and Paul. One of my favorite aunts was Sister Genevieve Eulalie Plamondon or Aunt Genny. She is a catholic nun as was her sister, Sister Jeanne Eleanor. Aunt Genny was born in 1913 and is still a nun today, living in Cincinnati, OH.

    There is an enormous part of the Plamondon family still living in Denver, CO. In the early 1980's I traveled to Colorado Springs, CO with my father, my sister Judy Plamondon and Aunt Genny to celebrate her Golden Jubilee (50 years as a nun). During that time many of the Plamondon family were able to come and meet and have a great lunch and celebrate Aunt Genny's Golden Jubilee.   Back to Top

  • 30. I was born Pauline Plamondon. My parents were Patrick Plamondon married to Malvina Belair. They had ten children, Lilliane, Gerald, Claudette, Ghislaine, Donald, Diane Michel, Jacqueline Ivan and myself. My father moved to Northern Ontario from a small town in Quebec called Ste Thecle. We moved to Welland in 1962 and have lived here since. We are now all married and our descendents now number at over 40. We are all fluent in both English and French. We did participate in the Plamondon clan gathering that was held in Quebec city in 1980. My mom has traced our family tree to our arrival in Canada from Normandy in France in the early colonization of Montreal. It is not totally completed however as we still have a few links missing.   • 29. I am William Patrick Plamondon, born in Livingston, NJ, in 1967. My father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all William Nelson Plamondon. A.D. Plamondon Jr. was my great-grandfather's Father or Uncle? There are still 2 branches of the A.D. Plamondon Family in the Chicago area. The aforementioned William Nelson Plamondon and Elizabeth Plamondon had 3 children, two sons and a daughter. The daughter died at age nine. The 2 boys were William Jr. & Peter.  William Jr. and his wife Mary have 4 children, William (my dear old dad), Donna (Scully), Jeffrey and Mark. Peter has three children, Peter Jr. (who shall now be known as Peter of the East, in deference to you folk out in Washington), Jimmy (yeah, I guess the same should be said about Jimmy of the East) and Mary.  Well, I think its Mary, besides someone needs to be named after my Glorious Grandmother.

    Anyway, every three years or so the entire clan gets together. My dad and his siblings and of course his cousins, but also their children, my cousins and I .We spend 3-4 days acting like Plamondons which is entertaining but very important because even though we all grew up in close proximity, we are now very spread apart, and like (perhaps) characters of a Grecian Play we wear many masks but take this opportunity to remove them and truly tell each other all the things we feel for one another even though it is awkward, hard and death defying. Because at one time or another we all felt like we were separated from our clan. So may I suggest contacting us or my grandfather because our history is important to us as well.   Back to Top

  • 28. My name is Robert Plumadore, great grandson of Joseph Edward Plamondon b1837 Cornwall in Cornwall, CN. His parents were Edward Plamondon & Julie Pare. J.E. enlisted in the Confederate States of America (CSA) Army during the American Civil war as a Lieutenant. He had an expensive horse for the time, valued at $1500, a considerable sum when I find most of my ancestors' mounts for this enterprise ranged from $10 to $150. He enlisted in Company C of the 1st Louisiana Cavalry. He served 3 years and was given a medical discharge. While campaigning in Tennessee he met and married a German girl from New York City. They went to stay with his family in Ogdenberg, NY, for 18 months, then returned to Tennessee were he lived until his death in 1905.

My name is Stephanie Plamondon, and I live in Hamilton, Ontario.  I am completing my residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McMaster University.  My dad is Daniel Plamondon, 1 of 3 sons of Roger Joseph Plamondon who was born and raised in Hull, Quebec.  He joined the army and served in Holland during the second world war for Canada.  He moved around a lot after that, pretty much in English Canada.  That made my dad pretty English, on top of the fact that my grandmother is Scottish (Joy McDonald).  Dad is in Victoria, BC now and his brothers are in Ottawa and Belleville. We think Peter and his brother Ambrose were both born in Montreal Canada and emigrated to the USA around 1857. Peter's wife was Katherine Kelly. Their son, Edmund Kelly Plamondon was born Aug. 4, 1870 in Topeka, Kansas, USA. He died Sept. 29, 1951.
    Edmund married Susan Cecelia O'Byrne and their son, Ambrose Daniel Plamondon was born June 24, 1900 in Chicago, IL USA and died April 12, 1974 in Crescent City, CA. Ambrose married Louise Dean Foster and their son Ambrose Daniel Plamondon, Jr. was born Nov. 10, 1928 in Chicago, IL and died May 10, 1985 in Port Orford, Oregon USA.
    Ambrose Daniel married Eleanor McFadden Hinds and they have 3 sons: Peter Dean Plamodon, Robert Daniel Plamondon, and James Lee Plamondon. Peter married Cindy Collins and they have 2 sons, Colin and Ian. James married Patricia Shaw and they have a son, Joseph Daniel and a daughter, Aimee Eleanor. Their son, Joseph Beaudry ran away to the US and joined the Union Army in Albany as a substitute for Hugh Shields of that city. Joseph was 13 but falsified his age. Clayton Plamondon, son of Dennis Plamondon,  broke his leg playing football on September 20th, 1997.  He was stuck in a Campbell River (Vancouver Island)  hospital for a month and a half.  When Clayton got out he made a full recovery in Physio Therapy.  He is now playing football once again and enjoying it.   Back to Top

  • 2. Ambrose Daniel Plamondon (my paternal grandfather) was a Chicago policeman in the 1930's, crashed his motorcycle into a steel girder at the sports stadium while avoiding a pedestrian. He fractured his leg in so many places that the doctors wouldn't cut off his pants leg for fear of not getting being able to set all the breaks. After he recovered, he retired with a medical disability and spent the Depression years alternating between Southern California as a farmer and wintering with circus troupes in Florida.

    There are family ties to the circus, where there was once a circus act "Plamondo and Armando" involving two men on opposite ends of a ladder that was attached to the high-wire. One of the men was really named Plamondon, but that didn't rhyme with Armando. (Peter Plamondon)   Back to Top
